    • @CleanCutAudio
      @CleanCutAudio 5 месяцев назад

      Thanks man! Really appreciate that. His course is called “Build a Better Bass Trap” and it can be found on acousticsinsider.com/store Highly recommend it. I don’t have an exact number but it was in the neighborhood of $2,000 and 60 hours of work. That includes acoustic materials, wood for the frames, fabric, and all parts necessary to mount all the panels. The Roxul safe n Sound is significantly more expensive now than when I built the panels in late 2020. And in the stores in the states, you have to buy them buy the pallet now, which is absurd. Not sure how that will impact future builds for folks. I already had all of the tools necessary to build the panels so if you don’t have a chop saw, drills, clamps, all that stuff, you’ll need to add a few hundred more dollars to that number. Hold that helps! I found the process to be extremely rewarding and I couldn’t be happier with the time and money spent.

    The new Accentize dxRevive is astonishingly good at restoring dialogue. Removes noise and reverb and restores spectral balance in a snap, all with one button. It blew me away and it now replaces ClarityVX, Clarity VX Dereverb, and Accentize Spectral Balance in my chain, and does a better job! I record shaving videos in a small bathroom with a Lav mic, and it does a fantastic job. I just add a bit of EQ and I'm done!

    How would turning on sidechain change the processing? TBH the way I always approach layering music underneath dialogue is with a compressor on the music track sidechained to the vox. It's always worked well for me, but curious your thoughts. You're a great educator man!

    • @CleanCutAudio
      @CleanCutAudio Год назад

      By nature this plugin operates by sidechaning your vocals or whatever into it, so hitting the sidechain button in the hidden menu actually monitors the audio that is being sidechained into Trackspacer, post filters. So if I'm sending my vocals into Trackspacer and I have the high pass at 250HZ and the low pass at 4kHz, hitting sidechain will mute the music and have me listen to my vocals with those filters applied, essentially being able to monitor what Trackspacer is hearing. Does that make sense?! I should have covered that in the video! I just never use that feature, so I skipped it on accident!

      Oh no, I didn’t take it like that at all! But I am trying to be extremely conscious of maintaining whatever it is people enjoy about this channel while I also try to grow it a little bit. I will never resort to the kind of stuff that seems to be most popular “The BEST podcasting microphone for ONLY $20?!?!?!?” kinda stuff, but the stuff I talk about on this channel is really not SEO friendly, or friendly to a broader market which is, absolute beginners. So it’s a fine line I’m trying to walk, and only because these videos do end up taking around 10 hours, and the ROI just isn’t there when there are only 350 views on a video (purely financially speaking. I do really enjoy making the videos and chatting with folks like you in the comments)! Basically I’m trying to figure it out as I go and will experiment with new things over time. Please keep me in check if you ever feel I’m losing what you love about the videos. Thank you for the continued support. And with the deep cut merch! I don’t even have one of those shirts haha. The more advanced stuff isn’t going anywhere! I’m glad you enjoy it though. And I’m glad you’re liking the course so far! I can’t believe you got to work on a 4000G! That’s incredible. We had an SSL AWS900+, LA2As, distressor, GML mastering EQs, sooooo much stuff but I still ended up doing most stuff in the box, regrettably. Thank you for the kind words. They mean so much, truly. I do have some ideas for the podcast and working from home with a 2 year old, a 4 month old, and a dog doesn’t offer much in the way of silence, or free time in general. But I’m making an effort to double down on the RUclips channel because it’s probably the thing I enjoy the most (although it does offer the worst ROI in terms of dollars earned to hours put in, but oh well). Thanks again, and I’m always down to hear ideas for videos or podcasts!
